Bienvenue / Welcome

Moi c'est Nounours, l'ours du timbre, le fidèle compagnon de voyage de Katie et Maxime (enfin quand ils ne m'oublient pas à la maison). Suivez ici nos périples autour du monde. Vous pourrez y retrouver notre journal de voyage et nos photos, mais aussi les bars, restaurants et hôtels qu'on a testé, avec nos impressions !
J'espère que ce petit site vous fera voyager et vous donnera envie de partir. Si tel était le cas n'hésitez pas à m'écrire, je ferais de mon mieux pour vous aider.

Follow me (the bear in the stamp) as I roam around the world with my travelling companions Katie and Maxime in "Beary trips". I will try and share the beauty of the places we visit through the photos they take. I hope it will make you want to visit the countries and towns we have, give you ideas of what to do there or where to stay or eat.

Jour 1 / Day 1

We arrived in Brussels around half past three. We headed of directly to find the hotel. We had checked out the itinerary on the internet so we found the hotel pretty easily. Good job we'd taken out some cash before we left Paris because the machines and ticket booths in the metro only take cash or Belgean credit cards.

We arrive at the hotel and dump off our stuff. We head back out to explore the town. It is extremely cold. We catch the tram back towards the center of town and walk the last 10 minutes to the Grande Place. We take a look but just standing around freezes our feet off, so we take a couple of pictures and decide to find somewhere warm to read about the history and what's what.
Once we have warmed up we head back out to find the Mankenpiss. Unfortunately by the time we get there it is already dark so the pictures aren't so great as we haven't taken the tripod. We head back towards the hotel instead of waiting around in the cold for dinner.
In the evening we go out for dinner at the Belgo Belge (check it out in the restaurants section) And this time we are wearing our moonboots, hats and scarves to shield us from the cold.

Hey I'm the new Brussels bear. Let me introduce you to my town.

We spent a long week-end there for Valentine's day in 2010. Check out what we did, where we stayed and which restaurants and bars we tried out.

We had a great time, we didn't rush about so there's a whole lot more stuff for us to go back and do!!
